About BackflowNear

Who runs it

BackflowNear is a small, independent publisher. It is not owned by, or a front for, any business it lists. Listings, corrections and questions are handled by our listings editor, Quentin. Write to editor@backflownear.com and it reaches the desk directly.

Where the facts come from

• State certified backflow tester rosters: Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Tennessee TDEC (Fleming Training Center), Arkansas Department of Health, Oregon Health Authority, Utah Division of Drinking Water, Indiana IDEM and South Carolina DES.
• Each business's public Google profile, matched to the roster by phone number or by name in the same town, for its address, website, reviews and whether it is still open.
• State rules, utility program pages and published test prices, each linked to the page it came from, with a short quote we matched against that page.

Every listing shows when it was last checked. The full method is on how we verify listings.

What decides a listing

A business appears only if the state roster lists it with at least one current certificate, it tests for the public, and its phone or name matches an open Google profile. Testers the roster lists without a company appear in town tables, never as their own page. Order is by distance and our quality score.

Independence and money

No business can pay for its place in the rankings, its badges or its certification data.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, email editor@backflownear.com with the page and what should change. A business can also update or claim its own listing. We check each correction against a public source or the business itself, fix what is wrong, and date the change. A business closed on its public record is removed automatically; a business that tells us it is still open stays listed while we check.
