Who must test

• Homes and businesses with an in-ground sprinkler or fire suppression system must have the backflow device tested before July 1 each year. Source.

• Test results must be submitted to the Nixa Utilities Water Department by July 1 each year under city ordinance and Missouri DNR requirements. Source.

How the report is filed

• Nixa Utilities is moving to SwiftComply for online backflow test reports; all tests must be submitted through SwiftComply beginning February 2026. Source.

Tester registration

• Testers register through the SwiftComply tester registration link (sc-tester.com), requesting individual accounts and submitting their testing certification and test kit information, which are required to sign up. Source.
• Customers must submit a test performed by a Missouri certified backflow tester by July 1 every year. Source.
