Who must test

• Domestic services the city finds to be a contamination risk need a reduced pressure assembly, tested every year by a licensed backflow technician, for residential and commercial accounts alike. Source.
• All irrigation meters need a PVB or RP. Commercial irrigation backflows are tested every year and residential irrigation backflows every two years. Source.

How the report is filed

Tester registration

• Domestic and irrigation assemblies may be tested by a person with a current certification from an accredited institution such as TREEO or ASSE; fire service assemblies need a licensed fire inspection company. Source.

If a test is missed

• Customers who do not comply with the testing mandates will have their water service terminated to protect the public water system. Source.
