Who must test
- Certain backflow prevention assemblies with test ports must be tested at installation and every year after by a licensed backflow tester. Source.
How the report is filed
- Frisco uses Backflow Solutions, Inc. (BSI Online) to manage its cross-connection program records. Source.
Tester registration
- All backflow assembly testing must be done by a certified tester who is registered with the city's regulatory authority. Source.
- Registered testers must show their test equipment can maintain calibration accuracy of plus or minus 0.2 psid. Source.
- Testers must carry insurance during registration, including commercial general liability of $2,000,000 per occurrence and $5,000,000 aggregate, $1,000,000 auto liability, and workers compensation. Source.
Fees
- The backflow test fee, administered through BSI, is $40 per device. Source.
- Frisco also charges a per-assembly fee for annual inspections, set in the fee schedule, in addition to the tester's own charges. Source.
