Who must test
- All backflow prevention assemblies must be tested on installation and annually after by a licensed tester, except residential assemblies, which are tested on installation only. Source.
How the report is filed
- The tester must call the Public Works Backflow Inspector at 972-216-6947 before testing to book an appointment; the inspector must be present to observe the test. Source.
Tester registration
- Tests must be performed by a licensed backflow tester registered with the City of Mesquite. Source.
Fees
- The city charges $25 per assembly per year for annual inspections, added to the monthly water bill in the month of the inspection, on top of the tester's charges. Source.
