Who must test
- Property owners whose systems could drain non-City or used water back into the City system, such as irrigation systems also served by a well or cooling systems with secondary storage, should install backflow preventers. Source.
- These systems must be inspected annually by an approved tester. Source.
- Devices must also be tested by an approved tester immediately after installation or repairs of any kind. Source.
- It is the customer's responsibility to purchase and install the backflow preventer. Source.
How the report is filed
- The tester (inspector) should submit a Field Test Report on the City form. Source.
