Who must test
- Any fire service connection supplied by the District must have an approved backflow prevention device; the District decides the type and degree of protection. Source.
- The customer is responsible for installation, testing and maintenance of backflow prevention devices (District rules Article 7). Source.
- An SCDHEC notice of approved backflow devices (February 22, 2005) published on the SJWD site states devices must be tested immediately after installation and at least once a year. Source.
How the report is filed
- SJWD publishes its own Backflow Prevention Assembly Test Report form, which records the tester's certificate and gauge number. Source.
