When the test is due

Backflow assemblies must be tested on an annual or biennial schedule. Residential customers with a service of two inches or less and no listed hazards can qualify for testing every two years. Source.

How the report is filed

Registered testers report results through the city's web based electronic backflow test reporting system no later than 15 days after the test. Source.

Fee

Residential customers can opt in to have the city's contractor test their assembly, paid through a fee on the monthly utility bill. Source.

If a test is missed

A customer whose assembly fails must have it repaired and pass a retest within 14 days, or water service can be suspended, discontinued or denied. Source.
