Who must test

  • Homes and businesses with connections such as irrigation, hot tubs, pools, or private wells must have a backflow prevention device that is tested once a year by a certified tester. Source.
  • Test cock plugs on below-ground devices are a City requirement; failed devices must be repaired and retested, and AVBs or PVBs on irrigation needing more than normal repairs must be replaced with approved double check devices. Source.

Notices and deadlines

How the report is filed

  • Testers or owners mail or email all backflow test reports to Backflow@lakeoswego.city or City of Lake Oswego, Attn: Backflow, 17601 Pilkington Rd, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. No portal is named. Source.

Tester registration

  • Backflow assembly testers must hold a CCB or LCB license if they charge for their services, in addition to State of Oregon tester certification. Source.
  • City ordinance and OHA rules require all backflow assemblies to be tested by a State of Oregon certified tester on installation and annually after that. The page links the OHA tester list. Source.
